Kasauli
Kasauli reminds one of the colonial times because of its cobbled roads, English architecture and gabled houses. Strolling down the lanes and bylanes of Kasauli, you would be fascinated by the sweet chirping of the birds, long rows of rhododendron, pine, Himalayan oak and chestnut trees. Location of Kasauli
Kasauli is a quaint little town tucked away near Kalka at a height of 1,927 mts above sea level. Kasauli is a cantonment town in Solan district in Himachal Pradesh established in 1842 by the British colonial rulers.


What to see in Kasauli?
Monkey Point: Monkey Point is a prime tourist attraction in Kasauli, just 4kms from the bus stand. It is the highest point in Kasauli from where you can get an excellent view of the plains of Chandigarh and the beautiful Sutlej River. A small temple dedicated to Lord Hanuman is situated at the top of the hill. This hill is in the shape of a foot as it is believed that Lord Hanuman touched ouched this place after collecting Sanjivani booty or medicinal herb from the Himalayas.

Dharampur: Dharampur is situated 15 kms from Kasauli on National Highway (NH) 22. It has one of the best hospitals in India for tuberculosis cure. Sanawar: Sanawar is famous for its boarding school, the Lawrence school. It is just 6kms from Kasauli and it is almost hundred years old.

Anglican Churches: Kasauli houses some of the finest Anglican churches in India, in terms of architecture and beauty. Situated near the bus stand, this 159 year old structure is built in the shape of a cross surrounded by fir and chestnut trees. The Protestants living here and the tourists visiting Kasauli worship in this church.

Pasteur Institute: Set up in 1900, the Pasteur Institute is the oldest in India. It produces anti rabies vaccine that takes care of people falling prey to dig bites. There is also another institute side by side that produces vaccines of typhoid, small pox and cholera.

Sabathu: Sabathu is a cantonment town situated at an altitude of 1,437 mts. It houses a Gurkha fort built in the early 19th century.

Dagshai: Dagshai is situated 19 kms from Kasauli at an altitude of 1,925 mts above sea level. It consists of a military public school and several military barracks.
