DELHI – GWALIOR
Gwalior is a chaotic town in the north of Madhya Pradesh, located in its driest part, between the plateau and a rocky hill. Gwalior was being the domain of the Rajput Prathiara and Kacchavaha clans. Visit the Mausoleum of Muhammad Ghaus, a monument of considerable importance influenced by the Mughal style of the Muslim court of Delhi. Next to it is the tomb of the great sixteenth-century musician Mian Tansen, one of the precious jewels of the court of Akbar the Great. Then visit the Citadel, where you can see the Man Mandir fort.
GWALIOR
Departure by coach Km. 70 south of Gwalior Continues to Datia, a small rural town & the municipality of the homonymous district. Here you find the beautiful sixteenth-century palace of Rajput architecture. In the afternoon an excursion to visit the temples of Metavali and Bateshwar, a 1,300-year-old temple complex.
GWALIOR – BHOPAL
Bhopal, a city in central India, was founded by the king of Parmara, Bhoj (1000-1055). In the seventeenth century, Bhopal was part of the Mughal Empire. Then in the eighteenth century, Bhopal was enriched with magnificent palaces and mosques. In 1724 Bhopal became the heart of a Muslim kingdom, later destroyed by British colonization.
BHOPAL – UJJAIN – Indore
Then departure by bus to Indore and along the way visit to Ujjain (Km. 190 about 4:30 hours). It is located along an ancient road travelled by merchants and caravans. Under the Magadha Kingdom, especially under the father of Emperor Ashoka, Ujjain experienced a period of strong development. With the end of the Gupta dynasty and the rise of the Parmar dynasty, Ujjain found itself at the center of numerous riots and invasions. Ujjain is one of the seven holy cities of Hinduism, a pilgrimage destination of the importance of Varanasi. Then rich at Indore!
INDORE – OMKARESHWAR – MAHESHWAR

DHAR – MANDU
Dhar was the capital of the Malwa dynasty until the twelfth century. Visit the fort, from which you can enjoy a beautiful view of the landscape, and visit the Bhojshala mosque. It is an imposing stone building that preserves ancient Sanskrit inscriptions, the Lat Masjid mosque, and the tomb of the famous Muslim saint Kamal Maula. After the visit continues to Mandu (35 km), one of the largest fortified cities in the world. It is one of the fascinating destinations in central India.
Burhanpur
Visit Burhanpur starting from the Jama Masjid started during the Faruqi dynasty. The visit continues with the imposing Shashi Fort, whose intact parts show fantastic sculptures and stone inlays. When Shah Jahan resided there, he built for his beloved wife a wonderful building containing a luxurious bathroom and a hammam, in a fusion of the Mughal and Persian styles.
AJANTA – AURANGABAD
Departure for Aurangabad, in route visit to the Ajanta Caves (UNESCO World Heritage Site): Indian village of a few thousand inhabitants in the north of the federated state of Maharashtra. It is famous for the monumental complex of the same name.
AURANGABAD – EXCURSION ELLORA
Ellora is, since ancient times, the centre of pilgrimage of 3 great religions: Buddhism, Brahmanism, and Jainism. Precisely to this peculiarity, we owe the artistic flowering that makes it one of the major places of rock architecture in the entire subcontinent. Here there is a complex of 34 caves used as temples, whose construction covers a period ranging from the fifth to the tenth century.
AURANGABAD – MUMBAI
Explore the city, one of the main locations of the Deccan kingdoms conquered by the Mughals; it houses a Bibi-Ka-Makbara mausoleum dedicated to the wife of Emperor Aurangzeb.
