Day1 ARRIVE / DELHI (MOB): Meet upon arrival at Delhi Intl Airport and transfer to your Hotel. Overnight at Hotel.
Day2 DELHI-JAIPUR (B/L/D) : After breakfast at hotel, check-out of rooms and drive to Jaipur. After lunch at Hotel, proceed with the sightseeing tour of city, visiting the City Palace, the principal residence of the ruling family and is known for its stunning architecture. Part of it is now converted into a magnificent museum. Also visit Jantar Mantar, a stone observatory raised in the 18th century. Time permitting visit cottage industry specializing in hand-woven carpets & textiles. Witness how silk carpets are handmade. Meals and overnight at hotel.
Day3 JAIPUR (B/L/D) : After breakfast at hotel, proceed with the sightseeing tour of Amer Fort situated atop the Amber hill with photo stop en route of the famous Hawa Mahal. Lunch at Hotel. Afternoon at leisure for individual activity/shopping. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.
Day4 JAIPUR – AGRA (B/L/D): After early breakfast at Hotel, depart by surface for Agra. Upon arrival in Agra, check-in at your Hotel. After lunch at hotel/restaurant proceed with the sightseeing tour of city, visiting Agra Fort built in 1569 on banks of river Yamuna, during the great Mughal era. After this visit TAJ MAHAL, one of the 7-wonders of the world. Later visit a cottage industry to witness skilled craftsmen doing fine marble inlay work. (Taj Mahal is closed on Fridays). Meals and overnight at hotel.
Day5 AGRA-DELHI-KALKA (B/L/D) : After breakfast at hotel, depart by surface for Delhi. Upon arrival in Delhi, proceed with lunch at local restaurant. After lunch proceed with the sightseeing tour of New Delhi. Drive past India Gate (memorial to the Indian army soldiers who died in the World War I) the Rastrapati Bhawan (formerly the viceroy’s residence) and the Parliament House and visit Qutab Minar. After dinner at local restaurant, in time transfer to Railway Station to board the Kalka-Howrah Express train departing at 2250 hours for Kalka. Overnight on board Train’s 2nd AC sleeper berths.
Day6 Arrival KALKA-SHIMLA (B/L/D) : Arrive in at Kalka station at 0500 hours. Connect on own to board the Kalka-Shimla Shivalik Express (toy Train) departing at 0530 hours for Shimla. The Toy train, for which tracks were laid in 1903. This 96 Kms narrow gauge line passes through at least 102 tunnels, over deep gorge and it takes a little over 4hours to cover the distance from Kalka to Shimla. Breakfast would be provided at Barog Station by the Railways. Arrive in Shimla at 1015 hours. Meet upon arrival at Station in Shimla and transfer to your hotel. Shimla: A quaint little hill train chugs up into the Shivalik foothills, over dramatic loops and high arched bridges to the hill resort of Shimla (2130 m) – the capital of the mountain state of Himachal. Shimla was one a string of hill stations that the British established to escape from the scorching heat of the plains. The 12 km, crescent shaped ridge on which it is located was first occupied by the British troops, in the early part of the 19th century, during the Anglo-Gurkha War. The little village of Shymala, a retreat for British officers, soon grew to become the glamorous summer capital of the British, in India. Shimla’s salubrious climate, easy accessibility and numerous attractions have made it one of the most popular hill stations in northern India. The splendid views of the show-clad ranges of the Himalayas, fine walks through oak and flowering rhododendron, enchanting resorts within easy reach, golf Naldehra and skiing at Kufri and Narkanda make Shimla an attractive destination throughout the year. Overnight hotel.
Day7 SHIMLA-KUFRI-SHIMLA (B/L/D) : After breakfast at hotel, proceed with the sightseeing tour of Kufri, a winter ski resort and during summer, there are pony and horse riding. Also visit the unique Himalayan Zoo. Afternoon Half day city sightseeing to Shimla. It was the summer capital of the British India and is called the queen of Hill Stations. The main street of Shimla, Mall road is full of activity and with lot of interesting shops & eateries’ around it. Jakhoo hill is the highest point in Shimla and offers a panoramic view of the city. Glen forest is one of the most fascinating picnic spots here. Overnight at Hotel.
Day8 SHIMLA-DELHI (B/L/D) : After breakfast at hotel, in time transfer to Kalka Station to board Paschim Express departing for Delhi at 1020 hours. Arrive in Delhi at 1640 hours. Meet upon arrival and proceed to a local restaurant for dinner. After dinner in time transfer to airport to board flight for onward destination.
